Isaac T. Suchil was first elected in 2004 as the Council Member representing District 6. In December 2012, he was re-elected to serve a second term and in December 2016 re-elected to serve a third term. In January 2016, he was appointed by his Council colleagues to serve a one year term as Mayor Pro Tem and most recently in 2020. Council Member Suchil represents the City of Colton as a member on several local and regional agencies, boards and committees, including:

  • Agua Mansa Industrial Growth Association (AMIGA)
  • Colton/San Bernardino Regional Tertiary Treatment & Water Reclamation Authority Board (RIX JPA)
  • Colton Beautification-District 1 Committee
  • Colton Business Retention Committee
  • Colton City Manager Recruitment Committee
  • Colton Military Banner Committee
  • Colton Parks & Recreation Commissioner
  • Colton Planning Commissioner
  • Colton Political Reform Committee
  • Colton Sign Committee
  • Legislative Task Force Member, League of CA Cities Inland Empire Division
  • Solid Waste Advisory Task Force (SWAT)

His objectives as Colton Council Member include:

  • Instill community pride by enhancing and beautifying our City parks, roadways and public facilities
  • Encourage business revitalization that maintains a tax base and eases the financial burden for residents.
  • Protect and preserve natural wildlands
  • Ensure that major projects stay within allocated budgets
  • Stay apprised of regional developments that affect Inland Empire communities
  • Ensure that the proposed projects benefit the quality of life for all citizens

For over 30 years, he has devoted his career to law enforcement. Throughout his life he has been actively involved in the Colton community and also volunteered some of his time to civic service. Prior to becoming a Council Member, he served as a member of the Planning Commission and the Parks & Recreation Commission. During his tenure as a Parks & Recreation Commissioner, he served as Chairman and also spearheaded the process for reviewing the current Parks & Recreation Foundation and making programs more accessible for the youth of our community.
