Colton Welcomes New Police Chief: Anthony Vega
The City of Colton is pleased to announce the appointment of Anthony Vega as the new Chief of Police. Chief Vega brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success from Rialto, where he has served with distinction for over 5 years.
Chief Vega started his career with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department in 1997 working his way through the ranks and leaving as a sergeant, with experience serving as an interim commander for the Public Affairs Division. He also worked for Cal State, San Bernardino Police Department and Rialto Police Department. His specialized knowledge and work experience with other law enforcement agencies will be invaluable to the Colton Police Department and community.
City Manager Bill Smith expressed his enthusiasm about the new appointment: “Colton is very fortunate to bring in a Police Chief with Anthony’s experience and knowledge. I look forward to working with him.”
Chief Vega, in accepting his new role, stated: “I am honored to serve as Colton’s Police Chief and look forward to continuing to enhance the level of services we provide to our community. I am committed to keeping the community safe and will focus on enhancing the quality of life for those who live, work, and visit our city.”
